Brought to you by Lincoln Presidential Foundation and the Center for Lincoln Studies/ University of Illinois Springfield
Join us Tuesday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m. for an in-person event featuring a lively conversation with author Harold Holzer on his latest book, Brought Forth On This Continent: Abraham Lincoln and American Immigration.
Renowned Lincoln Scholar Harold Holzer charts Lincoln’s political career through the lens of immigration, from his role in an increasingly anti-immigrant Whig Party to his evolution into a champion of immigration. As Holzer writes, “The Civil War could not have been won without Lincoln’s leadership, but it could not have been fought without the immigrant soldiers who served and, by the tens of thousands, died that the ‘nation might live.’”
To purchase an autographed copy of Harold’s new book Brought Forth On This Continent: Abraham Lincoln and American Immigration, call Lincoln Home Bookstore at 217-523-0222 and ask for Amy or Christy. The cost of the book is $35.00.
Unable to make it to the in-person event? Don't worry! This event will was live-streamed, just like our webinars! This event is generously sponsored by Julie and William Cellini
