CHICAGO, (June 1, 2023) - The Lincoln Presidential Foundation announced today that its first ever multimedia project, the film series Warning Signs: Lincoln's Response to Rising Tensions in the 1850s, has received three prestigious awards: Gold and Silver Awards from the Telly Awards and an Award of Distinction in the Communicator Awards judged and curated by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts in New York (AIVA).
The Warning Signs film series is an exploration of Abraham Lincoln’s response to the rising challenges to freedom, justice and equality in the decade after his term in the U.S. Congress, leading up to his presidency and the outbreak of the American Civil War. The series features the vivid storytelling of a diverse group of experts. Together, they illustrate a complex narrative that reveals when and how Lincoln chose to respond to what he understood as betrayals of the founding ideals, an increasingly irreversible national and political divide, incompatible ideas on the very character of the Constitution itself, and the ultimate value and meaning of human equality.
